From the Directors:
July has certainly been a busy month! Following the July 4th holiday, we had a great ride with 6 bikes up to Rockton for their famous chicken lunch, and met up with Chapter K. Saturday July 20th, a couple of us went to Dodgeville for lunch at Bob’s Bitchen BBQ. The food there is excellent, and we would highly recommend going there! Tina and I attended the MN/ND rally in Fargo and had an excellent time! We are headed out for the SD/NE rally Wednesday night, and we will give a report after our return on Sunday.
If you are looking for things to do, August has no shortage of events. Rally’s in Nebraska, and Illinois, Chapter G’s chapter challenge is a lot of fun, and I would love to see the challenge trophy come home to us. The district picnic in Westfield is shaping up to be a great event, and don’t forget about WD-41. I know the Barman’s and Gebhard’s are going. There’s still plenty of time for more of you to join us!
Of special note is our fund raiser at The Shoe Box. Please arrive by 8:30 for set-up, 9:00 will be a brief social, and we start serving at 10:00 AM. The plan is to serve until 2:00 PM, or until we sell out, which ever comes first. We are including a bake sale of your homemade (or not) baked goods. Please prepackage them in zip lock bags or plastic wrap. Serving size is 2 x 2 for bars, 2 large or 3 medium cookies, and 1 slice of banana bread (or similar items). All baked goods will be selling for $1. Any kind of baked goods are welcomed.
I would like to propose for future fund raiser events, that all funds raised from the sale of baked goods be donated to a local charity! Let me know if you have any suggestions.
We have been discussing the idea of a mid-week “Ride To Eat”. We are thinking possibly twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s, meeting around 5:00 PM?? We will need to pick a meeting spot each time according to were we are going to eat. Please email Bruce or Tina with your input about this. Let us know if you are interested in joining us, and if the time and days work for you, as we can be flexible with this. We also need ideas of destinations about 45 minutes to 1:15 minutes away from the meeting spot.
Wing Riding Wisconsin
July’s qualifying rides included a ride to Rockton with 6 bikes. Safety gear was worn by all riders which earns us an additional point.
Remember to report any 50 mile ride with 3 vehicles (must have at least 1 bike/trike) to us so we can include the info in the newsletter. Thank you!
Happy August Birthday’s
