Chapter H and friends are continuing our bi-weekly Thursday evening rides. We will depart from our meeting point at 6:00 PM. The rides are approximately 2 hours with a short stop in the middle for restrooms and gas. Normally the ride ends with an ice cream/dinner stop. Our next ride is Thursday, August 6th. Watch your email and our Facebook site for the meeting place.
The Wisconsin District picnic is August 22nd in Westfield, WI. We will have a group ride planned to get there for anyone that would like to join us. Last year was a good time and this year should be even better. COVID 19 precautions will be observed. We will have more space than last year to allow for social distancing.
Upcoming Rallies and other events continue to be cancelled due to the virus. As of this time, the only ones still on schedule are Montana and the Four Corner’s Rally in Ignacio, CO. We will keep you updated with any information we receive and any that we plan to attend.
On June 18th, we had our Thursday evening ride with a GREAT turnout. 7 bikes carrying 11 people and all wore safety gear. Tom lead us on some great backroads heading South out of Madison for about a 100 mile ride that ended in Verona at (guess where) Culvers.
We had a great 50+ mile ride with the Chapter H group on July 2nd. We had 5 bikes and 6 people, who all wore safety gear. We went towards Cambridge, through Rockdale, some other small towns, and ended up in McFarland at Culver’s for ice cream.
After our Zoom Call Social on July 12th, we had a group of 8 bikes that had a super ride through Lodi, crossed on the Merrimac Ferry, through Devil’s Lake State Park, and up to Wisconsin Dells for Lunch. The return trip was via the backroads to Baraboo ad Portage. Another great 100 mile trip and great time with everyone wearing full safety gear.
At this time, the state is in various stages of re-opening. GWRRA’s policy for gatherings is to follow local guidelines. Please only participate in activities and functions if you feel safe doing so!
University classes continue to be offered via Zoom calls. There are some excellent classes being given and we would like to strongly encourage you to take advantage of this great opportunity! Visit www.gwrradot.com to see all of the classes being offered. Typically hey conduct one class in the afternoon and repeat it in the evening. These classes are FREE!
